Steel Sheets
Types of steel sheets and the application of each of them
Steel products enter the market in various forms and are used, one of the most widely used forms of which is sheet.
Steel sheets with different physical properties and chemical structure, each are used for specific applications in the construction industry, automotive, petrochemical, etc. In this article, we try to briefly introduce the types of steel sheets, their features and applications, stay tuned for the rest of this post.
Black sheet (hot sheet)
It includes three categories of industrial black sheets, alloy and ordinary. The standard of this sheet is defined between St33 to St52 and this standard is based on the amount of carbon in them, which makes the sheet flexible.
It is mostly used in the construction of sheds, skeletons, dams, tanks, etc. and is offered in two forms: rolls and sheets. To buy black sheet, refer to the page of this product.
Oil sheet (cold sheet)
This sheet reaches the desired thickness during cold rolling operations and has high strength and durability and has a suitable appearance. This type of sheet is available in three forms in the market: ordinary St12, semi-stretch St13 and super-stretch St14
It is most commonly used in cases where high stresses or high weights must be tolerated without changing the physical structure, such as steel structures in buildings or car bodies and parts that are exposed to wear and rust. For information on the prices of this type of sheet, refer to the oil sheet price page. This sheet is also used to produce profiles.
Galvanized sheet (white sheet)
They are a type of oily sheet coated with zinc metal to protect it from rust, so it can be used in areas that are most exposed to direct moisture, such as tankers. This sheet is offered in two forms of fabric and roll form. The price of galvanized sheet varies in different sizes and each of its types is used for a specific application.
Colored sheets
It is made of painted galvanized sheets in the furnace to be resistant to corrosion in acidic and alkaline environments in addition to rust. In addition, they have a beautiful and varied shape, so it is mostly used in interior and exterior facades of buildings or roofs and bodies, and is offered only in rolls.
Acid wash sheet
The appearance of this sheet is similar to oily sheet because the black sheet is washed with hydrochloric acid and its impurities and surface impurities are removed and it has a polished surface. This sheet is offered in two forms: roll and sheet (shear and fabric).
chequer plate
It is a kind of hot sheet on the surface of which protrusions in different shapes (almond, diamond, checkered, etc.), which is known as the flower of the sheet, are created to eliminate the slipperiness of its surface, so it is used in places where they want to prevent slipping. People and objects such as stairs, floors of cars and ships or industrial devices are offered in two forms, coils and sheets.
Tin coated sheet
The black sheet reaches the desired thickness after cold rolling and then covered with tin or chromium by electrolyte process. Polymeric coatings are sometimes used to protect the sheet from rust. It is used in the food industry to make cans and bottles, and in the automotive industry to wash cylinders, etc., and in construction to fences, roofs, etc.
Alloy sheet
Under heat treatment, black sheet is combined with elements such as carbon to increase its hardness and toughness and to be able to withstand rust, wear and corrosion. The application of alloy sheets is mostly in the industry of parts manufacturing, bridges, oil rigs, ship hulls and in general environments exposed to direct moisture and corrosion and is offered in two forms: roll and sheet.
